KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Nepal recorded 1,570 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday along with 6,146 recoveries and 13 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 11,365 swab samples (including RDT antigen data received through SMS & Email) were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 1,022 PCR and 548 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 40,408 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 38,883 are in self-isolation, 1,228 in institutional isolation, 255 in ICUs, and 42 on ventilators. Similarly, 137 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,827 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 437 cases of the virus on Monday. Of them, 350 were recorded in Kathmandu, 28 in Bhaktapur, and 59 in Lalitpur districts.
