Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll rises to 114

KATHMANDU, Aug 18: With seven more COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll jumped to 114 on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 18: With seven more COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll jumped to 114 on Tuesday.


According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, one COVID-19 patient each from Kavrepalanchowk, Nawalparasi, Morang,Dhanusha, Banke, Tanahu and Kaski succumbed to COVID-19.

Of the seven death cases, one is a female from Tanahun district.


So far, 12 individuals in Province 1, 47 in Province 2, 20 in Bagmati Province, eight in Gandaki Province, 15 in Province 5, four in Karnali Province and eight in Sudur Paschim Province have died of COVID-19.


As of Tuesday afternoon, four COVID-19 patients in Province 1, 46 in Province 2, 52 in Bagmati Province, six in Gandaki Province and 10 in Province 5 are in Intensive Care Units of various hospitals and eight COVID-19 patients in Bagmati Province are on ventilators.


Likewise, Morang, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari and Kathmandu districts have more than 500 active cases of COVID-19.
