KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Nepal's two batswomen, Rubina Chhetri and Puja Mahato, made a world record victory against Maldives in the ACC Women's Premier Cup.
Giving a target of 228 runs for victory to Maldives, Nepal secured a record-breaking win with a margin of 214 runs after dismissing Maldives for just 13 runs.
Record-breaking Chand humbles debutant Maldives
With this win, Nepal advances to the quarterfinals of the tournament. They secured their spot in the quarterfinals from Group D by maintaining an undefeated streak. In the quarterfinals, Nepal will face Kuwait, the runner-up of Group A.
Maldives, while chasing the substantial target of 228 runs, were bowled out for a mere 13 runs in 13.5 overs. Sumaya Ahmed of Maldives was the highest scorer with just 5 runs.
Six players from Maldives were dismissed without scoring any runs. This victory represents Nepal's largest margin of victory in women's T20Is.
