Nepal to lock horns with Pakistan in SAAF U-18 inaugural match

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Nepal and Pakistan are set to compete in the inaugural game of the SAFF U-18 Championship under South Asian Games.

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Nepal and Pakistan are set to compete in the inaugural game of the SAFF U-18 Championship under South Asian Games.


The tournament will kick start at the Armed Police Force (APF) playground in Halchowk from September 20. According to tie sheet, Nepal is in Group ‘A’ along with Bhutan, Maldives, and Pakistan. Group ‘B’, on the other hand, comprises of India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The tournament will conclude on September 29.

In the first edition of this championship, Nepal had claimed the title beating India in the finals with 5 against 4 goals in the tie-breakers. Nepal had again lifted the trophy defeating India with 2-0.


Nepali team has started its preparation since Sunday in a bid to strike hat-trick in the third edition.
