Nepal to receive COVID-19 vaccines purchased from China from July 21


KATHMANDU, July 16: While Kathmandu district has postponed the Vero Cell vaccination campaign citing shortage of vaccines, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has announced that Nepal will soon receive millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccines.


According to a press statement issued by the health ministry, Nepal will receive at least 3.2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines by July 30. “Nepal will also receive COVID-19 vaccines purchased from China from July 21”, further reads the statement.


Nepal is currently inoculating Vero Cell vaccines across the country and is soon to begin administering J & J vaccines.

People older than 50 who haven’t received any shot of any COVID-19 vaccine yet


Lecturers at universities, school and college teachers and employees


Staff of public vehicles


Those who provide emergency services (services that are considered emergency by the government)


Those who require to be vaccinated in order to travel to certain countries


J&J vaccine


People aged between 50 to 55, who haven’t received any dose of any vaccine yet


Differently-abled people (category ‘Ka’ and ‘Kha’)


Refugees who are currently living in Nepal


Health workers and sanitation workers associated with health institutions
