During the meeting, the Nepali side informed the visiting delegates about the latest laws related to labor and foreign employment. According to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, there was also an in-depth discussion on ensuring the rights and entitlements of workers.

However, there are no words yet from the UAE side on the issue of increasing the minimum wage. Officials are optimistic that the UAE will positively respond to Nepal’s demand.

Nepali officials present in the meeting said the Nepali side also proposed that there should be a minimum wage guarantee for Nepali migrant workers in the UAE. Nepal also demanded effective arrangements to bring the dead bodies to Nepal easily.

Officials said Nepal also asked the UAE to facilitate the return of registered workers to Nepal with an amnesty for those currently facing imprisonment. According to the Nepali officials who attended the meeting, the UAE side is positive about Nepal's demand. The UAE has also expressed its willingness to take domestic workers from Nepal, said the officials.
