Nepali Congress candidate severely injured in bomb explosion

UDAYAPUR, Nov 29: Nepali Congress candidate for the House of Representatives, Narayan Karki sustained serious injuries after a bomb exploded at Udayapurgadi rural municipality. Karki was en route to Nepaltar from Katari for election campaigns when a cooker bomb exploded at Danuwarbesi of Udayapurgadi at 9:30 AM. Witnesses said that three more were injured in the incident.

UDAYAPUR, Nov 29: Nepali Congress candidate for the House of Representatives, Narayan Karki sustained serious injuries after a bomb exploded at Udayapurgadi rural municipality. Karki was en route to Nepaltar from Katari for election campaigns when a cooker bomb exploded at Danuwarbesi of Udayapurgadi at 9:30 AM. Witnesses said that three more were injured in the incident.

Ganga Kumari Rai, an eyewitness said that Karki sustained severe injuries on his cheek and left foot. Likewise, driver Rajan Karki sustained severe injuries below his knee. Mira Katuwal, of NC’s student union and Dhanmaya Dhaulakoti, a cadre also sustained injuries from the blast. Those injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nepaltar. Arrangements are being made to bring them Kathmandu for further treatment from helicopter.


The District Police said that further details to the incident are yet to arrive.
