KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Nepali Congress (NC) is staging nationwide protests on Saturday against the government's move to dissolve the House of Representatives.
Leaders and cadres of the NC are taking to the streets in all election constituencies as decided by the party's Central Working Committee meeting held on Sunday.
The party has said that it is forced to launch protests as the lower house of parliament was dissolved due to PM Oli’s autocratic, totalitarian and tyrannical attitude.

"The country is plunging into a fresh political instability and uncertainty while the constitution and federal democratic republican set-up are in peril due to the prime minister's move," the NC has concluded.
According to the NC headquarters, party President Sher Bahadur Deuba will address a protest rally in election constituency-5 at Budhanilkantha and NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma will address in election constituency-6 in Kathmandu. Likewise, NC leader Gagan Thapa will address a protest rally in Kapan and other leader Sita Devi Yadav will address a rally in Kavrepalanchowk.
The NC is staging nation-wide protests from January 9 to January 21.
The party will be staging protests in all local units and electoral constituencies across the country during this period, according to Nabindra Raj Joshi, a central committee member of NC.
“NC will stage protests in all electoral constituencies on Jan 9, in all rural municipalities and municipalities on Jan 16 and in all ward offices on Jan 21,” Joshi said.
