KATHMANDU, Sept 29: In a remarkable display of skill and strategy at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, the Nepali eSports team has earned a spot in the semifinals of the Peace Alice Asian Games edition of Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile.
During the quarterfinals held at the China Hangzhou eSports Center on Friday, Nepal secured its semifinal berth by clinching the second position within its group. Unlike conventional gaming setups, this unique PUBG competition features four teams competing in two separate groups during the semifinals.

The Nepali squad, composed of Subin Kumar Prajapati, Dipesh Gurung, Sahash Bhandari, Samir Gurung, and Sangin Bhattarai, posted an impressive time of 54 minutes and 4.842 seconds to claim the second spot in Group C. Hong Kong emerged as the group leader, while Palestine and Saudi Arabia were unable to advance from this group.
Nepal had previously secured a spot in the quarterfinals as the top runner-up in the initial round. Joining them in the semifinals are South Korea and Thailand from Group A, host nation China and Chinese Taipei from Group B, and Japan and Indonesia from Group D.
The next phase will see these eight teams divided into two groups, each comprising four teams, competing in the semifinals. The top two teams from each group will advance to the final stage, where four teams will vie for the top three medals.
