KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday escalated 14.57 points to close at 2,076.27 points.
The market opened at 2,061.70 points and hit the day’s high at 2,084.8 points in the first 26 minutes of trading. Shortly, the index dropped as low as 2,063.89 points and remained stable for the next around two and a half hours. The market recovered around 13 points before it closed for the day.
NEPSE adds 6.55 points; daily turnover slides down to Rs 3.151...
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased 5.95 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 2.43 billion from Rs 3.21 billion on Sunday.
Four out of the 13 trading groups, including non-life insurance, hotels and tourism, manufacturing and processing and mutual funds lost in the intraday transaction. Of the gainers, ‘others’ added the highest of 82.62 points.
Among individual companies, 148 were recorded as gainers whereas 86 were the losers.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited with turnover of its shares worth Rs 185.90 million topped the segment. Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited gained 10 percent of its market price, the largest of all. Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 6.78 percent of its market value.
