Nepse adds 13.18 points, daily turnover slides down to Rs 1.008 billion on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, Oct 17: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday gained 13.18 points to close at 1,864.62 points.


The secondary market opened at 1,851.43 points and escalated to the day’s high at 1,884.68 points in the first 25 minutes of trading. However, the market went into a straight fall to as low as 1,857.27 points in the next two hours. In the remaining time before the market closed, the index recovered around seven points.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also increased 3.08 points. The daily turnover, however, declined to Rs 1.008 billion from Rs 1.253 million on Monday. 


Three groups including non-life insurance, trading, and hotels and tourism lost in their market values. Of the 10 gainers, life insurance added the biggest of 88.29 points to its market price. 


Among individual companies, the market values of 173 companies inclined, while 57 companies posted losses in their indices. 


Hathway Investment Nepal Limited had a transaction of Rs 46.269 million and stood atop in terms of the transaction volume. Similarly, the company also stood as the biggest loser with a decline of its market price by 8.53 percent. NIBL Pragati Fund gained the highest of 7.35 percent to its market price.
