NEPSE jumps 33.15 points, daily turnover hits Rs 5.55 billion

KATHMANDU, June 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday surged 33.15 points to close at 2,115.24 points.


The market reached 2,100.32 points in the pre opening session and opened for the trading. The index fell as low as 2,087.38 points at the first half an hour, while it kept escalating in the successive period and reached 2,114.82 points when the market was left with 45 minutes of trading. In the remaining period, the market gained an additional around one point before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies added a notable 4.18 points. The daily turnover inclined to Rs 5.55 billion from Rs 5.49 billion on Monday.


All the 13 groups posted gains to their indices in the intraday trading. Life insurance and non-life insurance surged 241.11 points and 233.57 points, respectively.


Among individual companies, 203 were recorded as gainers whereas 41 were the losers.


NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 363.09 million. Barun Hydropower Co Ltd was the topmost gainer, while Samling Power Company Limited lost the highest of 5.81 percent of its market value.
