KATHMANDU, July 14: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday escalated 52.97 points to close at 2,257.59 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,204.61 points and reached the day’s high at 2,290.95 points in the first two minutes. The index then plunged to as low as 2,231.78 points in the next 10 minutes. The market kept fluctuating within a range of 20 points in the remaining trading hours.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies added a notable 9.59 points. The daily turnover jumped to Rs 7.62 billion from Rs 7.08 billion on Thursday.
All the 13 groups were successful in adding values to their market values. Life insurance gained the highest of 220.85 points, which was followed by manufacturing and processing, and non-life insurance with 174.37 points and 140.48 points, respectively.
Among individual companies, 201 were recorded as gainers whereas 36 were the losers.
Janaki Finance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 242.75 million. Ridi Power Company Limited was the topmost gainer, while Prime Debenture 2084 lost the highest of 4.12 percent of its market price.
