KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday rose by 56.88 points to cross 2,000 points, while the daily turnover amount stood at Rs 2.86 billion.
The secondary market opened at 1,972.15 points and at first fell by 10 points before going into an upward graph in the remaining trading hours. Overall, the market gained 2.88 percent to close at 2,029.03 points.
Stock market continues recovery, Nepse jumps 44 points
Along with the market index, the daily turnover also increased from Rs 2.15 billion on Wednesday. In the intraday trading on Thursday, a total of 208 companies gained in their market prices and only six companies were the losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also increased by 9.98 points.
All the 13 trading groups gained in average market prices of their shares. Six sub groups had their market index increased by three-digit points.
Among individual companies, the turnover of shares of Himalayan Distillery Limited stood at Rs 121.47 million, the largest of all. Himalayan Urja Bikas Company Limited was the top gainer while Nepal Bank Debenture 2087 lost the biggest percent of its market value.
