KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday plunged 16.61 points to close at 1,917.28 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,933.88 points and inched up 0.78 points in the first few minutes after the trading started for the day. In the remaining trading time, the index went to a straight fall, taking the market to a decline of 0.86 percent.

The daily turnover amount rose to Rs 1.65 billion from Rs 965.21 million on Tuesday. In the intraday trading, a total of 159 companies lost in their market values while 37 companies gained in their share prices.
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also went down 4.44 points. Out of the 13 sub-groups, hotels and tourism was the only gainer. Of the 12 losers, nine lost double-digit points in their market values.
In individual companies, Sanima Bank Promoter Share had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 670.29 million. Nadep Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the top loser while Khaptad Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest percent of its market value.
