KATHMANDU, Feb 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday nosedived 27.21 points to close at 2,034.82 points.
The market opened at 2,062.03 points and went downhill to reach the day’s low at 2,031.04 points in the last eight minutes of trading. The market recovered by around three points in the remaining period.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined by 3.35 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 3.77 billion from Rs 3.86 billion on Thursday.
All the 13 trading groups had their indices decline in the intraday trading on the first day of the week. Non-life insurance and life insurance lost 206.39 points and 139.47 points, respectively, highest in the row.
Among individual companies, 21 were recorded as gainers whereas 225 were the losers.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited with transactions of its shares worth Rs 409 million continued to lead the segment. Samling Power Company Limited lost 8.21 percent of its market value and was recorded as the top loser, while Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited gained the highest percent of its market price.
