NEPSE slides 0.62 points; daily turnover declines further to Rs 4.307 billion

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday declined marginally by 0.62 points to close at 2,088.99 points.

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday declined marginally by 0.62 points to close at 2,088.99 points.


According to the NEPSE, the market that opened at 2,089.62 points soared to the day’s high at 2,106.43 points in the first 35 minutes. However, the market followed the downtrend and reached as low as 2,082.92 points. In the remaining period, the market recovered around six points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also dropped 2.19 points. The daily turnover amount slid further to Rs 4.307 billion from Rs 5.134 billion on Wednesday.


Four out of 13 groups were registered as gainers. Hydropower added the largest of 39.08 points. Among the losers, life insurance shed the highest of 114.77 points.


Among individual companies, 121 were recorded as gainers whereas 117 were the losers.


Himalayan Bank Ltd Promoter shares had its largest transactions worth Rs 238.50 million. Nepal SBI Bank Rinpatra 2089 lost the highest of 9.60 percent of its market price. Nirdhan Utthan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest percent.
