KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Police have made public nine people accused of gangraping a woman in the new bus park of Kathmandu.
A 34-year-old woman who had come to Kathmandu to look for work lodged a complaint that nine people had gangraped her in different guest houses on the same day and the next day. After the woman lodged a complaint, the police arrested seven persons on Tuesday and two on Wednesday on the basis of the information regarding their whereabouts and appearance provided by the victim. They were made public by the police on Wednesday evening.

Among the arrested are Hikmat Nepali, 23, Ratan Nepali, 22, Deepak Nepali, 19, Shivahari Budha, 23, Yuvraj Baduwal, 24, Hasta Nepali, 25, Hast Nepali, 21, of Chhayanath Rara Municipality, Ward 10, Mugu, Suresh Sejuwal, Chandra Saud, 24, of Chhayanath Rara Municipality and Gopal Kumar Shirish of Buddha Bhumi, Kapilvastu, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali informed. According to him, all those arrested were preparing to go for foreign employment.
An investigation has been started into the incident after examining the woman's physical and mental health and the condition of the victim is now normal, police said.
