KATHMANDU, July 30: A new parliamentary committee is being established 20 months after the last general election.


Currently, the Federal Parliament has 16 thematic committees, with 15 of them set up on April 28, 2023.

The Committee for Monitoring and Evaluating the Implementation of the Directive Principles, Policies, and Responsibilities of the State has yet to be formed.


Speaker Devraj Ghimire is expected to create this committee on Tuesday, following a recommendation from the Business Advisory Committee.


The House of Representatives will present the names of the committee members during Tuesday's session, and once the proposal is approved, the committee will be officially established.
