All COVID-19 patients discharged from Udayapur hospital

UDAYAPUR, Oct 4: The COVID-19 Hospital at Satdhare Beltar of Chaudandigadhi Municipality-6 of Udayapur district has been cleared of coronavirus patients for the first time this year. According to Tej Bahadur Pokharel, focal person of the hospital, the hospital, which was always full of COVID-19 patients since the onset of the second wave of infection, has been empty since Sunday.

UDAYAPUR, Oct 4: The COVID-19 Hospital at Satdhare Beltar of Chaudandigadhi Municipality-6 of Udayapur district has been cleared of coronavirus patients for the first time this year. According to Tej Bahadur Pokharel, focal person of the hospital, the hospital, which was always full of COVID-19 patients since the onset of the second wave of infection, has been empty since Sunday.


According to Pokharel, the hospital was empty after all six infected people, including four women, who had been undergoing treatment for the past seven days, reported  negative for the virus on Sunday. He also said that three people including two women are still undergoing treatment by isolating themselves at their homes.

The hospital was reopened on April 22 this year after the second wave infections increased. The hospital, which had been overflowing with infected people from the beginning, has been emptied after five and a half months.


Mayor of Chaudandigadhi, Khagendra Rai said that the treatment of all the infected people of Udayapur including the city dwellers has become easier after the construction of the hospital. “Even though the hospital has been vacant, we all should take precautionary measures as the risk of COVID-19 infection has not subsided yet,” said Mayor Rai.


According to the latest statistics, 41 people, including 19 women, are infected in Udayapur. The infected ones are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers or have isolated themselves at their homes, according to the District Health Office, Udayapur.
