KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The health condition of former minister and Nepali Congress leader, Nabindra Raj Joshi, has not improved, and the left side of his body is fully paralyzed.

“The left part of his body is completely paralyzed, and there has been some movement in the right side. It is a matter of life and death now,” said Dr Rajiv Jha, who operated on Joshi. He further added that there has been no improvement in Joshi’s condition.

Joshi, who is a former Minister for Industry, suffered brain hemorrhage Friday morning.

A team of doctors led by Dr Jha operated on Joshi. However, a blood clot in his brain could not be removed.

Joshi suffered from hemorrhage due to a massive increase in his blood pressure. There is a blood clot in a sensitive part of his brain.

The blood clot has obstructed the flow of ‘water’ – formed in the brain – to his body parts.

As there is a big blood clot, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to his body is obstructed. “About 600 ml of fluid is formed in the brain every day, which flows to the body,” he said.
