Non-essential vehicles barred from operating on November 20 polls day

KATHMANDU, Nov 17: On the day of the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies’ elections to be held on November 20, non-essential services and vehicles except those with permits will not be allowed to operate from 4AM to 7PM.

KATHMANDU, Nov 17:  On the day of the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies’ elections to be held on November 20, non-essential services and vehicles except those with permits will not be allowed to operate from 4AM to 7PM.


The district administration of Kathmandu issued a notice on Wednesday, banning the operation of non-essential services and non-permitted vehicles from 4AM on November 20 until 7PM after voting.

In a statement issued by Assistant Chief District Officer Suprabha Khanal Dhungel, it is said, "…after voting on November 20 from 4AM to 7PM, all types of internal vehicular movement has been banned except for essential services and non-permitted vehicles."


In addition, the Kathmandu administration has mentioned that if the notice is not followed, action will be taken according to the law.
