Non-life insurers collected premium of Rs 21.81 billion in the first seven months of current FY

KATHMANDU, March 5: Nepali non-life insurers collected Rs 21.81 billion in premium from their businesses in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, March 5: Nepali non-life insurers collected Rs 21.81 billion in premium from their businesses in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.


According to the Insurance Board (IB), 20 non-life insurance companies collected the aforementioned premium amount during mid-July 2021 and mid-February 2022. Of the amount, the insurers collected a premium of Rs 2.72 billion just in a month of mid-January and mid-February.

Six non-life insurance companies earned more than Rs 1 billion through premium collection. These include Shikhar Insurance, Sagarmatha Insurance, Neco Insurance, Siddhartha Insurance, NLG Insurance Company (Nepal) and Premier Insurance Company (Nepal).


During the review period, Shikhar Insurance collected the largest of Rs 2.76 billion in premium and Sagarmatha Insurance collected Rs 1.95 billion. Sanima General Insurance, with the amount of Rs 527.70 million was the least in the row.
