Home Ministry makes it mandatory for security officials to take prior permission before meeting politicians

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: From now on, officials of the security agencies have to take departmental approval if they have to meet the leaders of the political parties.

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: From now on, officials of the security agencies have to take departmental approval if they have to meet the leaders of the political parties.


The home ministry has said that if the officials of the security agencies have to meet with the representatives of diplomatic missions or the leaders of political parties, apart from the line of duty, they should get approval for a clear purpose.

Spokesperson for the home ministry, Joint Secretary Phanindramani Pokharel has issued a statement asking security officials to take prior departmental approval if they have to meet representatives of diplomatic missions or political parties.


The statement also mentions that if anyone is found holding such meetings without prior approval against the instructions, action will be taken according to the law.
