KATHMANDU, Aug 10: Nepal Press Union (NPU) has condemned an attack on Nepal Press Union Parbat Chapter Chairman a construction entrepreneur.


Issuing a press release on Friday, Nepal Press Union, Kathmandu has heavily come down on the physical attack on Tiwari and Ghayal by construction entrepreneur Pushkal Sharma of Kushma municipality-4.

A group led by Sharma went at and manhandled Tiwari, correspondent of Nagarik daily and Station Manager of Radio Saligram, at Kushama municipality-4, Chhamarke on Thursday evening.


Journalists Ghayal sustained injuries in the attack. Sharma also tore his clothes.   


The Union has condemned the intimidation and attack on the journalists by inebriated Sharma.


NPU has urged the local administration to take the issue seriously and bring the attacker to book in line with the law so as not to let such incidents repeat.
