KATHMANDU, Aug 5: The Nepal Student Union (NSU) – a sister wing of the Nepali Congress – has set the age bar threshold for election in its organization at 32 years.
The Directive Committee formed by the party for coordinating the task for holding the 11th General Convention on the stipulated time gave final touches to its statute setting 32 years as the threshold.

However, the provision will only come into effect at the 12th General Convention. The NSU is holding the 11th General Convention from August 7 to 9 in the capital.
The NSU will also mandatorily enact the provision of 'one individual one post'. If a person holding a position files candidacy for election for another post, the person's lower position will be abolished automatically, Union's Spokesperson, UP Lamichane said.
The student organization will now have three general secretaries among which two will be elected and one nominated. It will have one chairman and 13 vice chairs constituting seven from seven different provincial states, four from inclusive quota and two from nomination. RSS
