70,026 people receive COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday


KATHMANDU, August 26: Of 14,374 COVID-19 tests conducted on Thursday, 2,433 tested positive, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).


On the same day, 1,929 COVID-19 patients recovered and 26 others succumbed to COVID-19.

Similarly, as many as 70,026 people received COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday.


There are currently 38,384 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 35,354 are in home isolation, 3,030 in institutional isolation, 620 in ICUs and 165 on ventilators.


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 730 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Of them, 561 were detected in Kathmandu, 66 in Bhaktapur and 103 in Lalitpur districts.


Also, Kaski district recorded 252 new cases of COVID-19 while the number was 153 each in Jhapa and Chitwan.
