Official of National Public Health Laboratory arrested with bribe of Rs 50,000

KATHMANDU, June 9: Lekhnath Bhattarai, a medical lab technologist (authorized sixth level) working at the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, Kathmandu, has been arrested by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

KATHMANDU, June 9: Lekhnath Bhattarai, a medical lab technologist (authorized sixth level) working at the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, Kathmandu, has been arrested by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).


Bhola Dahal, spokesperson of the Authority, stated that he was arrested at Sankhamul, Kathmandu with a sum of Rs 50,000 on Friday.

He said that Bhattarai was arrested by a team deputed from CIAA, Tangal based on the information and complaint that he was demanding bribes from service users to facilitate the lab registration process.


According to the officials of CIAA, further investigation is being conducted on the case.
