Chitwan, Nov 22: Last respects were offered to CPN (Maoist Center)'s central advisor and a "people's singer", Khusiram Pakhrin at the Maoist Center party office here this morning.
Pakhrin passed away on Tuesday due to the heart attack. He collapsed while singing a song in a joint mass meeting and condolence programme of Prakash Dahal, son of Maoist Centre chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who died in Kathmandu due to the same cause on Sunday. Pakhrin was rushed to the hospital where he breathed his last. His body has been kept at the party office here for paying of last respects.

CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Prachanda and CPN (UML) chairman KP Sharma Oli among the leftist alliance top leaders paid their respects to the late artist by draping his body with the party flag.
In a condolence message, Maoist Centre chairman said Pakhrin's demise has caused an irreparable loss to the party and the country. He stated that the party has been shocked by the death of its central advisor, a pillar of the Nepali progressive literary and cultural movement and people's dear signer. The party has paid tributes to the late Pakhrin and extended profound condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
The demise of singer Pakhrin, an epitome of dedication and commitment and the dear leader of the people has caused an irreparable loss to the party, Nepal's communist movement as well as to the progressive literary and cultural movement. The party will move ahead without wavering on the path he has guided to, the statement reads.
Pakhrin was born on Kartik 9, 2009 BS at Kharibot of Gorkha district. He is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters. RSS
