KATHMANDU, Jan 2: In a show of its strength, Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli led-faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is organizing a mass gathering of its cadres in Kathmandu today.
The District Committee of Oli’s faction of NCP in Kathmandu is hosting the event at 1 pm at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi.

Prime Minister Oli, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel and Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha are scheduled to address the gathering.
Following a vertical split within NCP, the rival factions – Oli led-faction and Puspha Kamal Dahal- Madhav Kumar Nepal led-faction – have been organizing gatherings of their leaders and cadres apparently to show their strength.
