One arrested for abusing minor through Snapchat and Viber

KATHMANDU, May 24: Manish Bhujel, 21, resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City-19 Puranchaur of Kaski, has been arrested by a police team from the Cyber Bureau of the Nepal Police on charge of exploiting and abusing a minor through online social media platforms.

KATHMANDU, May 24: Manish Bhujel, 21, resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City-19 Puranchaur of Kaski, has been arrested by a police team from the Cyber Bureau of the Nepal Police on charge of exploiting and abusing a minor through online social media platforms.


Police accused Bhujel of showing various temptations while talking to the minor victim through the social media network Snap chat and Viber, indulging in obscene conversations and video chats and recording the screen of the act. When the victim refused to do such unwanted actions, he allegedly sent threatening messages and also sent messages to the victim's mother through various unrestrained conversations.

Based on the complaint of causing unnecessary mental stress, distress, harassment and humiliation to the victim of the act, as well as character assassination, Bhujel was arrested from Pokhara with the help of the District Police Office, Kaski and the necessary investigation is being conducted by the District Court Kathmandu with an extension of five days, according to the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police.
