One arrested with over Rs 10 million undisclosed cash

KATHMANDU, June 2: The Armed Police Force (APF) has arrested an individual from Sunsari with Rs 11 million in cash, the source of which remains undisclosed.


The cash was seized by the APF team from the Border Out Post in Basantpur, located in Harinagar Village-5, near Durga Mandir in the Sunsari district. The team became suspicious of a car (Ba 16 Cha 7613) traveling from Ghuski to Harinagar and conducted a search.

According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, the APF's co-spokesperson, the car and its driver were taken into custody after the cash was found hidden in a sack inside the vehicle.


The arrested individual has been identified as Isa Ansari, 37 of Harinagar Village-5.


DSP Thapa mentioned that during the preliminary inquiry, Ansari could not disclose the source of the money. 


The APF is in the process of handing over the cash, car, and driver to the Revenue Investigation Office in Itahari for further investigation and necessary legal action.
