One dead, seven injured in jeep accident in Tanahun

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: One person died and seven others were injured in a jeep accident in Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality-2 Narighat under Prithvi Highway.of Tanahun.

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: One person died and seven others were injured in a jeep accident in Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality-2 Narighat under Prithvi Highway.of Tanahun.


DSP Mohan Bahadur Khand at the District Police Office, Tanahun, said that Sagar Gurung, 22, of Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-6 of Chitwan, died last night when the Bolero jeep (Ba 16 Cha 4918), which was en route to Ambukhaireni from Dumre, lost control and overturned on the roadside. Gurung died during treatment at the old medical college in Chitwan.

Six of the injured are from Chitwan and one from Gorkha.


Dambar Bahadur Gurung, 22, of Ichchakamana-5 of Chitwan, Kamal Gurung , 24, of the same place, Rudra Bahadur Chepang, 46, and 18-year-old Jit Gurung were injured in the accident.


Similarly, 19-year-old Rupak Gurung of Ichchakamana-6 of Chitwan and Testa Bahadur Gurung of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 of Chitwan and 30-year-old Purna Gurung of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3 of Gorkha were also injured.


Six of the injured are being treated at the old medical college, while Purna Gurung has returned home after treatment, according to the police. The police have arrested the jeep driver.
