LAHAN, May 20: A man died and another was critically injured in a road accident that occurred at Lahan Municipality-12 in Siraha district along the East-West Highway today.
Police have identified the deceased as Niraj Kusami a pillion rider in the motorcycle (Sa 6 Pa 617) that was hit by a vehicle whose registration number could not be recorded.
The rider, 32-year-old Santosh Chaudhary of Dhangadimai Municiaplity-1 in the district, is receiving treatment at the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital, according to the Area Police Office, Lahan.
Motorcyclist killed in road mishap
Meanwhile, police have impounded a tractor ferrying a stash of illegal timbers from Gol Bazar municipality-4 in Siraha district today morning.
The tractor (Sa 1 Ta 1712) was carrying 40 cubic feet of timber and was taken under control during the security check, police said. RSS
