One more arrested in Surkhet firing case

KATHMANDU, May 17: Police have arrested Santosh Giri, 33, for his involvement in the Surkhet firing case targeted at Binod Giri, 37, the leader of Tarun Dal, Birendranagar chapter, Surkhet.

KATHMANDU, May 17: Police have arrested Santosh Giri, 33, for his involvement in the Surkhet firing case targeted at Binod Giri, 37, the leader of Tarun Dal, Birendranagar chapter, Surkhet.


Santosh was taken into custody from Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur, on Thursday, said Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division of Nepal Police. Another person involved in the incident is absconding.

Earlier, four people were arrested in this case. The police have arrested Indra BK, 18, of Kailali Gauriganga Municipality-2, Bharat Bhul of the same place, 19-year-old Indian national Rohit Rajput and Rajan Giri, 37, of Birendranagar Municipality-4.


According to the police, Rajput was used as the shooter in the incident.
