SURKHET, July 18: The District Police Office, Humla, has arrested a person with natural musk.
Kanjok Tamang was arrested with musk in Simikot. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabinkhar Khanal stated that Tamang was arrested on Tuesday evening based on a specific tip-off.
Seven arrested for trying to rob tourist
Following the arrest, the police searched Tamang’s house and found 18 pieces of natural musk.
Tamang admitted to bringing the musk from New Delhi, India. He had arrived in Simikot on July 15 from New Delhi and claimed that he bought the musk in Delhi for Rs 700,000.
It was further revealed that Tamang planned to sell the musk in Taklakot, China, where a gram of musk can be sold for Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000.
Tamang is a permanent resident of Namkha Rural Municipality-2, Kermi. The police seized two mobile phones, bags, ATM cards, citizenship certificate, passport, and scales from him.
