KATHMANDU, June 10: One more Nepali national serving in the Russian Army has died. He has been identified as Sandesh Thapa, 20, hailing from Lamjung. He was enlisted in the Russian Army in mid-October of last year.
According to the family of the deceased, he lost his life in the Russia-Ukraine conflict on Tuesday, June 4.

Thapa, born on August 28, 2003, completed his Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in 2021 from Laligurans English Boarding School in Fedi Kuna, Sundarbazar Municipality-9, Lamjung.
The families of 41 individuals serving in the Russian army, including Thapa’s, have cremated the deceased. So far, the Nepali government has confirmed the deaths of only 23 individuals.
Moreover, there is a concerning rise in the number of Nepali recruits participating in the Russia-Ukraine conflict from the Russian Army. Many Nepali youths have lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
