KATHMANDU, Dec 14: Only 83 students will participate in Tribhuvan University’s 46th convocation ceremony that is set to happen on Dec 21. The decision was made amid the risk of COVID-19 transmission in Nepal. Although the Office of the Controllers of Examinations had decided to graduate 338 students with MPhil, PhD degrees and gold medalists, not all of them filled the forms.

According to the grace list passed by the 61st meeting of Tribhuvan University, a total of 56,713 students who have passed the examinations from June 16, 2019 to June 13, 2020 and obtained transcripts are eligible candidates for the convocation. Of these, only 7,087 had filled the participation form for the graduation ceremony. Since it is not possible to gather all 7,000 students, only those who are gold medalists, MPhil and PhD degree graduates will be present at the ceremony.
