PHUNGLING, Sept 28: The District Hospital in Taplejung has begun generating medical oxygen. The oxygen plant was installed at the hospital last week.
With the beginning of oxygen production at the public healthcare facility in the district, hassles relating to procurement of bottled oxygen cylinders from elsewhere have come to an end, said information officer for the hospital, Bijaya Rai.

Stating that many patients lost their lives due to the lack of medical oxygen,the hospital staffers as well as the patients are elated by the beginning of production of oxygen at the district hospital. They are hopeful that the supply of medical oxygen to other health facilities would be easier, shared Rai.
The newly set up plant produces 20 large oxygen cylinders a day.
The oxygen plant was installed at a cost of over Rs 7.1 million, according to officiating Medical Superintendent Dr Soning Lama. (RSS)
