ARGHAKHANCHI, August 11: The work to establish an oxygen plant at Arghakhanchi Hospital has concluded and oxygen production by the plant has already started. The oxygen plant came into operation on Tuesday and is capable of filling 70 large cylinders in 24 hours, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Kapil Gautam informed Republica. With this, the health workers of the hospital have fewer problems to deal with while treating the patients infected with COVID-19.

The federal government had provided Rs 15 million to Arghakhanchi Hospital to build the oxygen plant. The construction of the project was handed over to Technology International for Rs 9.4 million. Earlier, many people had to suffer during the second wave of the deadly virus in April and May due to the shortage of oxygen. “There will not be any shortage of oxygen inside the district if the third wave of COVID-19 begins,'' Shree Krishna Bhushal, chairman of the hospital’s development committee, informed Republica.
