KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Police have arrested a Pakistani and an Azerbaijani national on the charge of their involvement in cheating. The police have made them public.
A team from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Nazir Mohammad, 51, of Rawalpindi of Pakistan, currently living in Thamel, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, and Ishail Hussenil, 31, of Azerbaijan, currently living in Thamel, said Office Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police, Rabindra Regmi. The special team deputed from the office based on the complaints arrested both of them from Thamel.
They used to cheat the people taking them into confidence by showing fake documents including work permits in order to send them to different countries including the Czech Republic, Norway, Poland and Portugal for overseas employment.
In the course of investigation, both of them were found taking 1,000 US dollars per person showing fake offer letters, work permits and visas. As per the preliminary investigation, they had cheated eight million rupees in this manner, according to the Office.
