Two Pakistani nationals arrested with 500,000 Danish Krone in TIA

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Two Pakistani nationals have been arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with foreign currency worth nearly Rs 10 million.


Airport sources said that Yasin Ahmed, 31, and Mohammad Anam Lakhani, 48, who landed in Kathmandu from Fly Dubai flight number FZ 575 on Wednesday evening, were arrested with 500,000 Danish Krone (Danish currency). According to the police, the amount is more than Rs 9.54 million.

During a suspicious check at the airport's arrival gate, 500,000 Danish Krone were seized from the passengers.


The arrested have been kept in the Gaushala Police Circle. A police source said that they will be handed over to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation for further investigation today.
