No doubt that India is an intense cultural hub and each culture has its own significance. Panjabi culture is one of the oldest cultures of India and it is said that it has a unique power of making everyone dance. This was experienced at Nepal Academy on Tuesday. A group of 14 people from India led by Harinder Pal staged authentic Punjabi cultural performance. They created a charismatic aura throughout the entire hall making the audience dance to their beats. Punjabis adorned in colorful traditional attire entered the stage carrying native musical instruments of Punjab like Chimta, Ektara, Dhol, Alghoza, Esraj, Sapp and Tumbi. The group made the audience hold their seats tight for two hours with amazing cultural dances like Bhangra, Luddi, Jugni, Jhoomar, and Dhamal.
Nepal facing consequences of carbon emission
This is the scene of inaugural program of Panjabi cultural event titled ‘Festival of India in Nepal’ organized under the aegis of Embassy of India, Kathmandu in association with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC-Kathmandu). The event will be held all across the country from 19 to 22 February in support of Ministry of Culture, Government of India. During an inaugural event, Nepal Academy’s hall was flooded with the footfall of culture enthusiasts to observe the authentic Panjabi cultural performances. Audiences of the event were dancing energetically to the beats of the instruments.
Amidst the inaugural program, the mega cultural program organized with an aim to celebrate the existing age old cultural relations between the two nations was inaugurated by Chief Guest of the event Raghubir Mahaseth, Minister for Physical Infrastructure & Transportation. Apart from Mahaseth, dignitaries were also present in the event including Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri and Deputy Chief of Mission Ajay Kumar.
