Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee to hold discussion with former Finance Minister Sharma today

KATHMANDU, July 21: A discussion will be held with former Finance Minister Janardan Sharma in today's meeting of the Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee.


On Wednesday, the committee had a discussion with two journalists who wrote news about involvement of ‘unauthorized persons’ in the budget preparation.

An 11-member parliamentary special investigation committee was formed  on July 6 after the then Finance Minister Sharma was accused of manipulating tax rates by calling unauthorized persons at the finance ministry in the middle of the night while preparing the 2022/23 budget.


The committee is also set to extend its deadline for a week as it could not submit its report within the stipulated time.
