KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Chairpersons of all 10 thematic committees under the House of Representatives (HoR) took the oath of office and secrecy on Monday. Speaker Devraj Ghimire administered the oath to the chairpersons of the thematic committees who were elected unopposed.
Santosh Chalise of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected as the chairman of the Finance Committee, while Rajkishore Yadav of Janata Samajwadi has been elected as the chairman of the International Relations and Tourism Committee.

Likewise, Bimala Subedi of CPN (Maoist Center) has been elected as the chairperson of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, Arju Rana Deuba of the NC as the chairperson of the Agricultural Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee, Kiran Kumar Sah as the chairman of the Women and Social Affairs Committee and Ramhari Khatiwada as the chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.
Similarly, Deepak Bahadur Singh of Rastriya Prajatantra Party is the new chairman of Infrastructure Development Committee, Bhanubhakta Joshi of CPN (Unified Socialist) is the chairman of Education, Health and Information Technology Committee and Rishikesh Pokharel of CPN (UML) is the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.
Abdul Khan of Janmat Party was elected as the chairman of the Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee. Khan was elected after the RSP withdrew the candidacy of Ganesh Parajuli.
The parliamentary committee got full shape only nine months after the election of the House of Representatives (HoR).
