KATHMANDU, June 5: Most parts of the country are predicted to experience indirect effects of cyclone Nisarga for the next three days. “Currently the weather in most parts of the country is under the influence of the westerly wind as well as cyclone Nisarga originated in the Arabian Sea. Weather in the Kathmandu Valley including most parts across the nation will continue to have the cyclone’s indirect effect”, said a meteorologist at Meteorology Forecasting Division, Ganga Nagarkoti.
According to Nagarkoti, the weather for the next few days will remain cloudy in most parts of the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning, gusty winds or hail is likely to continue at many places in the eastern and mid-western region.

The cyclone that has already claimed four lives so far in India, and that started from the Arabian region was expected to travel toward the eastern direction hitting the western coastline of India and the surrounding region. Nagarkoti mentioned that Nepal has been facing the impact of cyclones due to the associated cloud system.
After cyclone Amphan, the first super cyclonic storm to occur in the Bay of Bengal in this century, the cyclonic storm caused by Nisarga is the second tropical cyclone to hit the Indian subcontinent in a span of two weeks.
According to the forecast given by the department, the weather will be mostly cloudy in Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Province 5. Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province will have partly cloudy weather. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning or gusty winds and hail is likely to continue at many places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.
Light rain or thunder and lightning are likely to occur at some places of Province 5, Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province whereas the weather in the Himalayan region will continue to be cloudy with moderate snowfall.
