Photos: “Preserve the heritage”

KATHMANDU: Locals residing around Pashupatinath Temple staged a protest against the newly-proposed Master-plan for Expansion and Development of Pashupati Area by Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) starting Monday.

KATHMANDU: Locals residing around Pashupatinath Temple staged a protest against the newly-proposed Master-plan for Expansion and Development of Pashupati Area by Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) starting Monday. 


Organizing a sit-in against the new master plan, locals held placards and banners demanding cancellation of the plan which they claim to be hazardous for the world heritage site. They also demanded the resignation of PADT Member Secretary Pradeep Dhakal, and the formation of a new committee including the  locals to draft a new plan.

They also asked to maintain transparency during recruitment at PADT along with annulation of contract-based construction works in and around the Pashupatinath Temple area.
