KATHMANDU, April 5: Locals of Bhaktapur have staged a protest against the decision of the local authority not to allow the celebration of Biskta Jatra in front of the Nyatapola Temple on Monday evening.


Bhaktapur District Administration  Sunday directed not to celebrate the jatra amid threat of the start of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Biska Jatra is a chariot parade festival celebrated in Bhaktapur to mark the arrival of spring season. The festival is observed for eight nights and nine days.
