Thanks to the vast improvements made to smartphone cameras, mobile photo editing has become popular than ever and there are many apps that can make your photos look really good. However, searching for photo editor apps in the Google Play store or the Apple store will yield enough results to make your head spin so to make it easier for you we have put together a list of the best photo editor apps.

This festive season, take full advantage of these free apps (though the pro versions are available at a nominal cost too), and make your pictures stand out from the rest of the Tihar photos that will be uploaded by your family and friends.

VSCO

VSCO is one of the simplest photo editing apps out there. VSCO houses all the tools you would expect from a favorable photo editing app; saturation, highlights, temperature and vignette can all be adjusted alongside many other settings. VSCO also offers a built in camera with advanced controls, allowing you to capture the perfect shot, edit and save, all without leaving the app. VSCO is quite popular for its built-in filters too, half of which are free but you have to buy the other half. VSCO keeps all your edited images together in the app so you can easily view them again without having to search through thousands of photos on your device.

You can even organize all the tools to your liking so your favorites are near the beginning of the list. Aviary also has a red eye remover, font tool, teeth whitener, color splash tool, blur tool, blemish remover, brush tool, and meme creator.

Polarr

Polarr offers pro-styled tools that covers a lot of ground when you need to polish up your images. The control buttons in the upper right cover zooming into the image, pulling up the editor full screen, launching your cropping tool, two before/after views, a radial mask took, a gradient mask tool, access to your adjustments menu and access to an online help/support section. The cropping tool allows for free form or preset cropping and the ability to rotate the image and flip the image from the cropping tool menu. The effects filter menu will drop down the left side of the screen and includes over fifty preset effects filters. These filters include modern, film, and artistic options. You also have the ability to create your own custom filters to add to the mix.

Photo Grid

Photo Grid is packed with fun feature such as collage maker, photo editing and countless different filters that adds magic to your photos. With a very straightforward interface, you can quickly get started on creating your first collage on Photo Grid. Like most photo-editing apps, it lets you edit your photo’s size and quality as well as slap on effects like filters, stickers, text, and doodles to maximize personalization. And within the editor you can choose your orientation, rearrange your images, and apply all of your effects before saving. It’s an intuitive process that you should be able to figure out as you go.

AirBrush

AirBrush is a great photo editing app if you are someone who likes to take a lot of selfies.  It allows you to make quick fixes and edits to your face and skin. From a blemish remover and teeth whitening tool to a function to make your eyes look brighter and reshaping tools, there are a lot of options available here. And of course there are plenty of filters to add some pizzazz too. AirBrush has an incredible 4.8 rating in the Google Play store and perhaps one of the reason for this is its easy to use interface. Most of the tools are one-click and there is not much that you will need to figure out and navigate. It’s definitely one of the easiest photo editor apps out there.
