Sources said the meeting will dwell on lifting ongoing obstruction in parliament by lawmakers belonging to the main opposition party, CPN-UML, and endorsing Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement through parliament.

Although the Nepali Congress (NC)-led government is planning to endorse the MCC compact agreement through parliament at the earliest possible date, parliament has been able to function properly due to the UML's obstruction. Also, the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have stood against endorsing the MCC agreement in its current form.
